Civility Rules Proposed

 

1. Keep to your right when walking on sidewalks. Do not move directly in front of another person or persons so as to obstruct their walk lane.

2. Hold the door open for the person behind you when entering or exiting a facility.

3. Give your seat on transportation to a senior citizen or disabled person.

4. Be courteous when dealing with salespeople in a store or on the telephone.

5. Do not interrupt people when they are speaking to you - wait until they are finished before replying. Learn to listen - you can learn more.

6. Do not be quick to judge others.

7. Respect other's opinions - respectfully disagree.

8. Compliment others when they have said or done something noteworthy.

9. "Before you give somebody a piece of your mind, make sure you can get by with what you have left."

10. Respect people's privacy and right to quiet enjoyment of their living space - keep noise to a minimum.
